About
Element Nineteen was started in November of 2005, by Katrina, a student who was living in Toronto at the time. Katrina currently relocates every four months due to school. All of the pieces launched in the Element Nineteen lines are inspired by the different cities that she lives in at the time.
The materials used in Element Nineteen products come from various sources. The majority of the one-of-a-kind items are made from a mix of both vintage and commercial supplies. Although some pieces are said to be few-of-a-kind, the nature of each individual piece is unnique. Due to the handmade nature of each piece, please allow for slight variation when purchasing few-of-a-kind pieces.
What's the story behind the name 'Element Nineteen'?
As I've encountered this question several times, there's only one way to explain why I chose my shop name. One of my favourite subjects in school was chemistry. My favourite element on the periodic table is Potassium (K), which happens to have the atomic number 19, hence the name "element nineteen". Geeky, I know.
